PRO-Series Direct Entry Programmable Scanners

PRO-Series Direct Entry Programmable Scanners
General Guide To Scanning

Birdies

Birdies are frequencies your scanner uses when it operates.  These
operating frequencies might interfere with broadcasts on the same
frequencies.  If you program one of these frequencies, you hear only noise
on that frequency.

If the interference is not severe, you might be able to turn SQUELCH
clockwise to cut out the birdie.  The most common birdies to watch for are
listed below.

Birdie Frequencies:

31.05 MHz             124.20 MHz
41.40 MHz             134.55 MHz
51.75 MHz             144.90 MHz
113.85 MHz            155.25 MHz

Reception Notes

Reception of the frequencies covered by your scanner is mainly "line of
sight".  That means you usually cannot hear stations that are beyond the
horizon.  During the summer months you may be able to hear stations in the
30-50 MHz range located several hundred or even thousand of miles away.

Realistic Pro-2036 Conversion Mod Help Needed

Realistic Pro-2036 Conversion Mod Help Needed

A video showing my Realistic Pro-2036 also known as Radioshack. I would appreciate any help in shedding some light on this scanner as I want to convert from UK version to USA version. At the moment my scanner starts from 66 MHz, and I want it the same as the USA version starting at 29 MHz. Many thanks to Radionut53 (Darryll) for his quick reply to my message.

PRO-2036 VD cell mod

Pro 2036 can pick up cell in the 400-512 range with this mod. Find IC 11, locate it on the bottom of the main board(where its pins come through).

Cut the trace between pin 7 and the base of Q17 and solder a wire to pin7 and base of Q17. Cut the trace between pin9 and the base of Q18. Solder a wire to pin9 and the base of Q18. Then solder one more wire to pin8(ground).

You now need a dual pole dual throw switch (6 leads on the underside) Solder the free wire ends in this order.

          pin9 o    o base of Q17

    base  Q18  o    o pin7

Q:  How can the individual channels be delayed?

A:  When the delay is turned on, it gives a two second delay on any
transmission.  Delay cannot be memorized into individual channels.
The only selections that can be made are all delay or no delay.

Home Scanner

This scanner is capable of performing an auto-sort.  It does not
re-arrange the order in which the frequencies are stored.  However, it
simply sorts internally all frequencies in the block(s) to be scanned in
